How to teach your dog to sit, shake, and to bark on your command.
- To teach your dog to sit hold a treat over his/her head and he/she will sit back to get it. Once she/he has done that say, "good job" or great job and praise it.
- To teach a dog to shake put a treat on his/her nose. Make sure to keep holding the treat firmly. When the dog can't get the treat with his/her nose they will try to get it with their paw. When they attempt to do this grab their paw and give them the treat. Repeat this until they figure out that they get the treat. After they figure this out hold out your hand fore them to grab. When they do this give them the treat.
- How to get your dog to bark or not to bark. Step 1: get your dog to bark. For example, if you know that your dog barks when the doorbell is rung, then ring the bell, and when he barks say "speak" and click a clicker (if you have one) and give him a treat. Step 2: After repeating this several times, try giving him the command “speak”. If he listens and barks, give him a treat.
